Do you have a few pounds to lose? Whether you’ve recently decided you want to shed some weight or you’re looking to bust a plateau, you’ve come to the right place.
The SilverSneakers Million Pound Challenge is a 30-day fitness and nutrition program designed to get you walking, working out, eating well, weighing less, and feeling more confident. We’re on a mission to lose 1 million pounds together—but all you have to do is pledge to lose one.
Here’s what to know:
- It’s open to SilverSneakers members, but you don’t have to be a SilverSneakers member to participate. Feel free to invite family or friends of all ages!
- The challenge starts on June 1 and runs all month.
- You’ll find workouts for all fitness levels, and you don’t have to count calories.
- It’s totally free. The only thing you stand to lose is a few pounds.
The Million Pound Challenge Fitness Plan
You’ll boost weight loss with a combination of walking and strength workouts. You’ll get audio walks and strength moves for walkers from Michele Stanten, fitness expert and author of Walk Off Weight. Plus, the program makes time for SilverSneakers classes or other group fitness classes. Here’s a calendar of what you’ll be doing.
The Million Pound Challenge Nutrition Plan
Healthy eating is essential to weight loss, but you won’t be counting calories. Instead, you’ll eat high-quality foods in the right proportions with tips from Cynthia Sass, M.P.H., R.D., dietitian and author of Slim Down Now. Plus, she’ll share 25 healthy and delicious recipes.
